
Professor Takeshi Nishimura took up his post on July 1st. He is engaged in a variety of research projects, including the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics of primate vocalizations, nasal temperature and humidity simulations, and morphological research on fossil primates, etc. Rescently, he published a Science paper regarding the vocal anatomy and physilogy of primates in 2022. He was also a joint recipient of the Ig Nobel Prize in 2020 for the collaboration of the helium sounds in crocodiles. This year, he received the Awards for Science and Technology (Research Category), The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for these research achievements.
