Year-end party "bo-nen-kai".

We held a year-end party "bo-nen-kai"to close out the year. This time, we had sukiyaki, at the request of a graduate student who had just submitted his doctoral thesis.

It was quite luxurious, with a selection of Kyushu specialties such as horse sashimi, chicken tempura, and squid shumai. The after-party was at a wine bar. When we entered, the place was full of girls. There were only guys among us.

At first, the conversation was centered around small talk and old memories, but then we began talking about the difficulties of research, how to advance our research, how to publish high-impact papers, and so on. The party turned into one in which participants looked forward to making great strides in the coming year.

This year has been a busy one, with many events including the appointment of new professors, conferences being held, and awards being awarded.

We expect that next year will be a year of a rush of research paper publications. Research papers that have already traveled, manuscripts busy preparing for their journey, and young data that are crying out to be turned into research papers. I would like to send them off in a beautiful way.

On the other hand, in March, Prof. Yoshihiko Nakano, who has run our laboratory for many years, will retire. All the members of the laboratory are planning a celebration with gratitude in our hearts.

Thank you for all your help this year.

We look forward to your continued guidance and assistance next year.

Happy New Year everyone.
